Practical information

Time and place

The conference is held at The Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters.

It begins Monday June 4 at at 08:30 (registration from 08:00)  and ends after lunch Wednesday June 6 (around 14:00). A banquet dinner will be held Tuesday night June 5. When planning your travel, you should arrange to arrive in Oslo on June 3 and to leave from Oslo Airport after 3 pm on June 6.

Registration

The conference is limited to 80 participants. The registration fee is NOK 1000 (conversion to other currencies here) and includes coffee breaks and lunch three days as well as banquet dinner Tuesday June 5.

Poster session

A poster session will be organized in the afternoon on Monday June 4. If you would like to contribute, please send title, authors/affiliation and abstract on a single-page pdf here.

Accomodation

Arrangment of the accommodation is left to the participants. Hotel Gabelshus is the closest hotel - only 350 meters from the conference venue.

Directions

The Norwegian Academy of Sciences and Letters is situated at Drammensveien 78, between Skillebek and Skarpsno tram stops of line 13, see travel information here.

Eating out

Lunch will be served at the Academy. Oslo has several nice places to eat, and here is a selection of restaurants to try, ranging from cheap yet excellent Asian cuisine to Michelin star awarded experiences.

Dining out in Norway can be expensive. The above recommended restaurants have been chosen based on the balance of quality / value.

Tipping is not compulsory, but if you are happy with the service and the food, you typically add/leave up to 10 % of the bill.

Sightseeing

If you plan to stay in Oslo for some time before or after the conference you may wish to visit some of the sightseeing attractions  here.
